The medics explore the theory that a 'broken heart' can cause patients to suffer very real mental and physical problems. Dr Wyne chats to Adolphus, who is struggling to come to terms with the recent death of his wife and best friend within a few weeks of each other. Dr Qamar pays a home visit to Elsie, a sprightly octogenarian whose health has deteriorated since the death of her husband, while Dr Razak treats young Emily, who has inherited a rare genetic condition from her late father which weakens the muscles of the heart.
