Thailand is one of the few countries in south-east Asia that has never been a European colony. Perhaps the word "thai" which means "free" has something to do with it. It is possibly the reason why this country evokes a certain magic that sets it apart from the surrounding countries. From Thailand we travel to Sri Lanka.
