Russian Empress Catherine and husband Peter attempt to make their marriage work in the third series of the critically acclaimed comedy. While Catherine hosts a conference for people from all walks of society to give their input on a new Russia under her reign, Peter is haunted by visions of his late father and his fixates on his failures as Peter the Great's son. He realises that a daily regime of hunting and culinary ventures cannot sustain him after his own attempted murder at Catherine's hands.
